Title: Mass Production of Bioagents ( Fungal and Bacterial)

IMPORTANCE:

Soil- borne pathogens viz, Fusarium oxysporum, Macrophomina phaseolina, Rhizoctonia solani, Sclerotinia
sclerotium, Aspergilus niger etc. cause serious diseases i.e. wilt, root rot, stem rot, collar rot etc. in
crops like chickpea, cumin, mung bean, mustard, groundnut etc. resulting in substantial yield losses in
these crops in Rajasthan.

Biological control of plant pathogens is environmentally safe and provide protection for longer period.

OBJECTIVES:

To provide opportunities to undergraduate students for acquiring skill on mass production of bioagents.

Culturing maintenance and mass multiplication of microbial bioagents viz, Trichoderma spp.Pseudomonas
fluorescens, Bacillus spp. etc

Testing formulations and viability of bioagents.

Supplying the bioagents at a reasonable price to farmers, Government and Non-Government agencies for using
directly in the field for management of plant diseases.

Undertaking associated activities of research, training and extension.
